Transforming lives by rebuilding smiles with complete implant care

Implants represent one of the most remarkable advancements in modern dental care. And Dr. Tejumade St. Matthew-Daniel has, in her nearly 20-year career, dedicated herself to mastering such innovations – all with the ultimate safety, health, comfort, and satisfaction of her valued patients at heart. So, it seems only fitting that Dr. St. Matthew-Daniel has the training, experience, and onsite tools to provide complete implant care from her well-appointed office in Orlando, Florida.

A versatile solution for tooth replacement

Implants may be used to support a single prosthetic tooth (crown), several replacement teeth, or a full arch prosthesis. Due to this versatility, many different types of patients can benefit, including those who:

  • Are missing one tooth or have a failing tooth that likely needs to be extracted
  • Have a few gaps in their smile and are not good candidates for a conventional dental bridge
  • Have an old or worn bridge or partial denture
  • Are missing (or soon will be missing) all of their teeth in the upper and/or lower arch(es)
  • Are dissatisfied with their current or old and damaged traditional dentures

Implants are so versatile because they function as tooth roots. Shaped like a cylinder, each implant is made from a material like zirconium or titanium designed to fuse naturally to the surrounding bone.

As a provider of complete implant services, Dr. St. Matthew-Daniel has the expertise to surgically place these “artificial tooth roots” in the jawbone. Once the implants are placed, the bone naturally and safely grows into the implant. This provides a strong foundation for the prosthetic tooth. For individuals who are missing all of the teeth in their arch/es, the prosthetic or prosthesis is a denture. Once the denture is attached to the implants, it is not going anywhere! It is stabilized in the jawbone – like natural teeth.

Many wonderful benefits from this unique and natural design include:

  • Exceptional comfort
  • Proper chewing function
  • Long-lasting (with the “usual” good oral hygiene)
  • Low-maintenance – no need for services like relining or rebasing to ensure a proper fit
  • Keeps the bone healthy and strong
  • Protects against destructive bone loss
  • Looks and feels great, like the natural tooth structure

What are full arch dental implants?

Full arch dental implants are essentially implants made from metal, typically titanium, which are not very tall, ranging between eight millimeters, sometimes even shorter, all the way to 15, 16, and even sometimes longer depending on where they’ve been attached to. They replace the root of the teeth. With the full arch dental implants, we place as many as the bone in your mouth allows so that then we can either place a bridge on top of that or have that hold a denture.

Who is a good candidate for full arch dental implants and who isn’t?

A great candidate for full arch dental implant is someone who has come to the end of the road with the health of their teeth and the teeth need to be taken out or someone that’s already missing all their teeth and wanting something that gives them more peace of mind. Those who are not qualified would be anyone that has been missing their teeth for a long time and as a result have unfortunately lost a lot of bone where we can’t place the implants. However, even in cases like that, we have remote anchorage where the implants can be placed.

What are the steps in the process for getting full arch dental implants?

The steps in the process of getting full arch dental implants include getting a CT scan so that your surgery can be planned, taking several pictures, both facial and intraoral, designing the final restoration, and then on the day of the surgery, getting you comfortable with sedation pills and gas, placing the implants, and placing the crown the same day, next day, or a few months later, depending on the case.

How long is a full arch dental implant procedure?

The full arch dental implant procedure takes anywhere from two hours if you’re just doing one arch. And if you’re doing both, it could be anywhere from four hours to five hours.

How long do full arch dental implants last?

Full arch dental implants could potentially last your lifetime. It all depends on your maintenance.

Will my new full arch implant teeth match the color of my old teeth?

Yes, your full mouth implants will match the color of your existing teeth. However, more often than not, most patients are not happy with whatever is on the other arch. We’ll help direct you on what shade to choose to best give you a beautiful smile.

What is the cost for a full arch dental implant?

The cost for a full arch dental implant varies. It depends on the amount of bone you have, the number of implants needed, and whether you need remote anchorage implants. When you come in, we can tell you exactly what the cost will be depending on what you present with.

Will insurance help cover the cost of full arch dental implants?

Insurance doesn’t typically help cover the cost of full arch dental implants. However, we have numerous payment options that help you fit affordable monthly payments into your budget.
